Me and family went to this restaurant the other day. We were actually looking for somthing to eat in mid valley but ended up in the gardens. I wanted to try this place long time already. It wasn't that packed that time but after a while boom.. Like a swarm of people coming in for lunch.
The appetizer RM2They send us this appetizer before your order come. And guess what?? They charged it. Oh and yes, they charged the wet towel also RM1 each.
Shrimp pork fried rice RM 14.50Our shrimp pork fried rice came 1st. It was good. The shrimps aka prawns were fresh!! springy eh!! The visible eggs were great. It tasted just like my grandma's type of fried rice except even better. They used short-grain rice aka japanese rice. A must try even though it was just a plate of fried rice.
siew long pao RM9.80Next was our siew long pao. 6 tiny siew long pao. This kind of siew long paos were the soupy type. Erm.. I don't fancy much on this. It tasted normal like all those in the other chinese restaurant ie Dragon-i and crystal jade.
Beef Udon RM16Undoubted that the beef udon was good. But the presentation of the food seem to be a bit off. Not very nice if you see like. They didn't arranged the food. Not to say that i can't eat if it was like that but I think they ought to think of some way to make they food look nice to be eaten. As my mum always says "your eyes eat before your mouth".
Beef lai-mee RM16.80Then we had the beef stew lai mee.. The hand-made noodles were good. Love the stringy texture. The beef was excellent. It was tender and full of flavor. We drank the soup till almost the last drop!! It was that nice...
The ceiling lamp!! nice ??I like the ambientof the restaurant. Not clamped together. I like they overhead lamp.
Me camwhoring again!! hehe~Last but not least the dessert...
4 of shared all the dish because we scared that the portion will be as big as crystal jade that leaved us to our MAX! We ordered the layer cake since it looked different from what we normally take. And also i wanted to try their tong yuen.
Layer cake RM7It came out like that. 4 piece of steam layer cake and it cost RM7. Expensive right??? The cake was JUST NORMAL. No need to try. Waste money only. We regretted on it.
Soy bean tang yuen RM7Then there came my tong yuen. Ermm... soy bean tang yuen.. Not very special only lo.. I prefer crystal jade's ginger soup tong yuen. It definitely tasted way better than this.
Seriously after this trip to DIN TAI FUNG. I still prefer crystal jade in Bkt Bintang. Long time didn't go there. Need go eat there again then only i can post some delicious photos here. Also Din Tai Fung don't offer as much choice as Crystal Jade. So if you happen to be in Lot 10 do go try Crystal Jade.
